Residential Landmark/Farmstead Fleming, Molly House...

Fleming, Molly House

Built in 1912 for Molly Williams Fleming as a one-and-a-half story bungalow with Craftsman and Colonial Revival details. It has a dormered pyramidal roof and a large recessed wraparound porch. The porch roof is supported by fluted posts exhibiting Colonial Revival styling. Molly Williams was born in Belle Vernon and married Samuel Fleming, a manager in a California Borough mercantile company. After his early death to tuberculosis, she was able to build the house with inherited funds. While the house has passed through several owners, its architectural integrity remains high for middle class housing in this college-dominated town.
